Churchill Estates Management is an award-winning and expanding property management company. We are currently recruiting an experienced Building Surveyor to conduct internal and external property surveys across our growing portfolio of retirement developments.

About the Role

As a Building Surveyor, you will provide Churchill Estates Management with reliable, accurate stock condition data and asset management insights. By carrying out comprehensive site surveys and inspections, you will help ensure our company remains fully compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.

You will play a key role in informing the future maintenance and asset strategy of our property portfolio, including:

  • Leading Section 20 Major Works consultations
  • Preparing schedules of work
  • Providing expert adjudication and reporting

This work helps us deliver the highest standards of retirement accommodation and safety for our Homeowners.

Other responsibilities include conducting defect surveys, supporting our Operations team with technical advice, and assisting in the assessment of new developments joining our portfolio.

You’ll report to the Managing Surveyor and work collaboratively within our Ringwood-based Property Services team. Flexibility to attend meetings and training sessions in Ringwood is essential.

Key stakeholders include internal teams such as Property Services, Lodge Managers, Regional and Area Managers, as well as external parties like contractors, suppliers, landlords, and homeowners. Occasional overnight travel will be required; all related expenses will be reimbursed.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 09:00 – 17:30
  • Friday: 09:00 – 17:00

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be:

  • Educated to a minimum of HNC or degree level in a relevant construction or property discipline
  • Ideally professionally qualified (RICS, CIOB, or ABE) and a current CSCS cardholder
  • Experienced in the construction or property management sector, with strong working knowledge of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, and Fire Safety
  • An excellent communicator, able to build effective relationships with contractors, colleagues, and homeowners alike
  • Organised and proactive, with strong attention to detail and a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
  • IT literate, especially proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word), with the ability to create and write detailed specifications and survey reports

A valid UK driving licence is essential.
