We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor / Project Manager to lead, design, and deliver construction projects from inception through to practical completion. Based in Surrey, you’ll manage diverse building projects for a key public sector client, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Salary-£70,000
Key Outputs
* Deliver construction projects valued between £25k and £900k.
* Produce feasibility studies, detailed reports, and cost estimates.
* Conduct condition surveys, defect analysis, and propose design solutions.
* Prepare specifications, tender documents, and manage procurement processes.
* Oversee internal/external works including maintenance, reconfigurations, and upgrades.
* Manage post-contract administration and final account settlements.
* Apply NEC and JCT contract frameworks effectively.
* Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Leverage data capture tools and reporting technologies.
* Ensure project insights and learning are recorded for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Organising
* Lead multidisciplinary project teams including MEP, Structural, and QS.
* Manage and prioritise workloads, timelines, and budgets.
* Liaise with clients to confirm scope, timeframes, and delivery expectations.
About You
* Degree, HND, or HNC in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Experience managing construction projects in a commercial/public sector setting.
* Strong knowledge of construction legislation, standards, and methodologies.
* Demonstrated leadership in supervising contractors and teams.
* Effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
* Skilled in using project and business software systems.
* CSCS cardholder.
* DBS clearance (or ability to obtain one).
Desirable:
* RICS or CIOB membership (or working towards).
* Familiarity with public sector procurement and project delivery frameworks
