The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join a highly respected and well-established organisation based in central Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a varied and hands-on position within a busy facilities team.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and upgrading a wide range of electrical systems and infrastructure across a diverse estate of both modern and older buildings. The role requires a strong sense of initiative, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude to ensure safe and effective operation at all times.
Main Responsibilities:

Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure safe and compliant systems.

Diagnose and repair faults across a variety of electrical installations.

Install and commission new electrical components and systems as required.

Perform routine inspections and testing, maintaining accurate records of work completed.

Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations and health & safety procedures.

Support periodic testing programmes including PAT testing and fixed wiring inspections.

Assist in minor refurbishment and upgrade projects across the estate.

Maintain tools and testing equipment in good working order and report defects promptly.

Collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient delivery of maintenance services.

Respond to out-of-hours emergencies on a call-out rota basis (when required).
Skills/Experience:

City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation/Maintenance.

18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified.

C&G 2391 or equivalent testing and inspection qualification (preferred).

Proven experience in a maintenance role.

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Good physical fitness and willingness to work at heights or in confined spaces.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Comfortable working alone or as part of a wider team.

Basic IT proficiency to manage digital work records.

Full UK driving licence.
Salary & Working Hours:
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
