Quantity Surveyor

£80,000 Per Annum + Benefits Package
We are pleased to be assisting our client, a top 10 building service contractor on their search for a quantity surveyor to join their team on a £20 million M&E critical project in Reading. The project is set to commence over a period of 18 months, thereafter there will be a transition to work on projects in London.
Our client is an industry leader within the life science and commercial building space and have worked on a large-scale projects across the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities:
Assisting the Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors in addressing commercial and contractual requirements.
Proactively identifying and managing contractual risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle of each scheme.
Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure successful delivery on time and within budget.
Prepare and manage accurate cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts across all project stages.
Lead procurement processes, including tender preparation, evaluation, and contract negotiation.
Administer and monitor contracts to ensure compliance with terms, timelines, and deliverables.
Maintain thorough documentation to support audit, compliance, and funding requirements.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment of financial and project goals.
Ensure project delivery aligns with legal, regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
Manage subcontractor accounts, including interim valuations, payments, and final account settlements.
Requirements:
Holds relevant Qualifications in Quantity Surveying/ Commercial Management
Experience working within the Mechanical & Electrical space.
Experience in Life Science and Commercial Building is adventurous.
Able to confidently communicate with Subcontractors and suppliers, managing the process as well as their expectations.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience working on high-value or high-risk projects
