Thermal Insulation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

✅ Installation & Fabrication

*

Apply insulation materials (e.g., mineral wool, calcium silicate, PIR foam, aerogel) to pipes, boilers, ductwork, and tanks.

*

Fabricate custom sheet metal cladding (stainless steel, aluminum) for weather/impact protection.

*

Prevent cold bridging and condensation through precision fitting.

🔧 Maintenance & Repair

*

Inspect and replace damaged insulation in hazardous areas (ATEX zones, chemical plants).

*

Conduct thermal imaging surveys to identify heat loss/faults.

*

Remove/reinstall insulation for equipment maintenance (e.g., valve access).

🛡️ Safety & Compliance

*

Adhere to COSHH for handling insulation fibres/dust (e.g., silica, asbestos legacy risks).

*

Follow working at height (IPAF/PASMA) and confined space protocols.

*

Ensure fire-stopping integrity for penetrations (BS 476-20/22)
