Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop the structural engineering section at the local office level
  • Drive business development initiatives and establish a strong market presence in the local area
  • Collaborate with office managers and practice leaders to implement strategic growth plans
  • Oversee departmental budgets and allocate resources efficiently

  • Guide and contribute to the preparation of project proposals and marketing materials
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to project managers and engineering staff
  • Forecast staffing needs and participate in recruitment and hiring processes
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development through coaching and feedback
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in horizontal structural engineering (bridges preferred)
  • Proven experience in project management and business development

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong relationships with local, county, or state government clients

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role

  • Working knowledge of regional infrastructure design standards and regulations
