Due to recent project wins, First Task Professional are working with a Tier 1 contractor to source a Senior QS for their commercial team in Edinburgh. Initially based on a £40m education project in the City, you will report to the Commercial Manager and will lead all commercial activities on this project.
Key Requirements of the Role
* Maintain accurate financial control systems and report monthly on Cost/Value Reconciliation.
* Liaise with and advise on all financial aspects of contracts, ensuring that valuations are maximised, certified and paid on time.
* To monitor progress on site and take a lead issuing required notices in accordance with contract procedures and timescales
* Prepare forecasts of cost and value of all trades including Preliminaries, monitor and report on same
* To ensure that all quotations are carefully vetted and comply with the specification ensuring that the most competitive bids are obtained.
* To manage subcontractors accounts accurately and effectively to enhance contract performance
* Attend Progress and other meetings as necessary to represent the company’s interests
You Will Need:-
* Minimum of HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or relevant construction qualification
* Experience working on large 2 stage bids
* Understanding of various forms of contract including NEC and JCT contract conditions.
* Track record of delivering high value projects - £10M - £50M in value.
