Introduction

We are seeking a motivated Façade Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and delivering innovative façade systems, from sketch detailing through to project management. You’ll work closely with architects, clients, and engineers to develop practical, code-compliant solutions while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for façade design to take ownership of diverse projects and mentor junior engineers.



Description

In this role, you will:

  • Apply engineering principals to façade system design.
  • Use knowledge and initiative to implement new approaches to complex engineering/design problems.
  • Assume responsibility for preparation of façade design and sketch detailing.
  • Execute the designs of façade systems and details.
  • Execute and manage drawings/ document control using various related platforms such as Aconex.
  • Coordinate and liaise with drafters, designers and engineers.
  • Liaise with clients and architects.
  • Competently convey façade designs which can be interpreted by architects and builders.
  • Assume responsibility for the management of small, medium and some large-scale projects including duties such as pricing, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Codes and policies e.g. WHS practices and Quality Assurance.
  • Check junior engineers’ work and provide technical guidance. 

 

 

Who are we looking for

This role is ideally suited to someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role in façade consulting or engineering business.
  • Member of Engineers Australia, CPEng (or working towards)
  • Good understanding of BCA and relevant Australian Standards
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of FEA (such as Strand7), and similar engineering processes.
  • Knowledge in façade performance requirements (such as weatherproofing and thermal performance).
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving/analytical skills.
