Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management and construction contracts, with a focus on delivering accurate reporting and effective variation control.
Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections for projects.
Manage and control project costs throughout the lifecycle of construction.
Conduct regular cost reporting, including forecasting and financial progress updates.
Monitor and manage variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.
Review and approve contractor and supplier payment claims.
Assist with tender evaluations and procurement processes.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and project timelines.
Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients regarding cost-related matters.
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and project documentation.
Skills
Proficient in BuildSmart and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying.
Minimum 4β6 yearsβ post-qualification experience in quantity surveying.
Proven experience in project cost management, reporting, and variation control.
