Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably with a strong background in residential development. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in early RIBA stage development projects, contributing to the successful delivery of the regeneration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for early-stage development projects, considering all aspects of construction and associated costs.
· Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness throughout the development process.
· Tendering: Manage the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation with contractors and suppliers.
· Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, review variations, and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
· Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimise costs without compromising quality and functionality.
· Risk Management: Assess and manage project risks related to costs, advising the project team on potential cost implications and mitigation strategies.
· Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
· Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting cost-related insights and recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably as a PQS or Developer client-side QS
· Proficiency in relevant software and tools for cost estimation and project management.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
· Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
· RICS or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.
