About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a leading building services contractor specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems. The company delivers high-quality M&E solutions for commercial, residential, and data centres, projects across London and the South. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and innovation, they work on complex projects that require expert financial and contractual management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for M&E projects.
* Manage contractual and financial aspects, including cost control, valuations, and variations.
* Work with NEC, JCT, and bespoke contract types.
* Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimize project costs.
* Handle claims, disputes, and final accounts.
* Liaise with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
* Monitor progress reports, cash flow, and financial forecasts.
* Negotiate and procure materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Requirements:
✅ Qualifications: Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
✅ Experience: Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor in building services, infrastructure, or energy projects.
✅ Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, power distribution, and renewables.
✅ Financial & Commercial Acumen: Proficient in cost tracking, forecasting, and procurement strategies.
✅ Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with NEC, JCT, and bespoke contracts.
✅ Software Proficiency: Experience with COINS, Causeway, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar tools.
✅ Communication & Negotiation Skills: Ability to liaise effectively with clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
