Your Role
As a Gensler Interior Designer with our team in Miami, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions, as well as coordinate design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do
Perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation
Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
Generate floor plans, finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
Responsible for Construction Documentation and Construction Administration, supporting the delivery of the project design intent
Work on multiple teams and support concurrent projects in varying phases of project delivery
Manage external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
As a self-motivated designer with strong Revit skills, you can jump in and produce test fits and project deliverables
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited university
3-7 years of commercial interior design experience – ideally for Workplace, Hospitality or Mixed Use projects
Proficient with Revit, SketchUp, 3D, Enscape, and other modeling software programs, such as Rhino, Grasshopper and/or Dynamo
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign a must)
Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
Strong knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices
NCIDQ certified (if you are on the path to certification, please contact Stacie_Smith@gensler.com to determine whether there are other roles that may be of interest)
LEED AP is preferred
