Health & Safety Manager

Location: Hybrid/Remote – Based out of Doncaster (2-3 days per week) with UK-wide travel

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Company Car or Allowance

Due to continued growth, our client, a leading construction business, is seeking a Health, Safety & Quality Manager to oversee and enhance HSQE practices across their fast-track fit-out and shopfitting projects nationwide. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, driving best practices, and maintaining a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence across multiple project sites.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic and technical support to ensure the safe and compliant delivery of construction projects. You will be responsible for overseeing health & safety, quality management, and regulatory compliance across all projects, offices, and sites.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSQE) initiatives.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.

Monitor and drive zero defects quality assurance across all projects.

Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships.

Provide expert guidance and technical support on all HSQE matters, including building safety, regulations, and duty-holder compliance.

Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring all corrective actions are implemented.

Develop HSEQ reporting procedures and deliver reports to senior management.

Lead HSQE inductions, training programs, and toolbox talks for project teams.

Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, fairness, inclusion, and respect across all teams.
Skills & Experience Required

Extensive experience in health & safety within the construction industry.

NEBOSH Diploma (essential) and a strong track record in HSQE leadership.

In-depth knowledge of health, safety, environmental regulations, and best practices in construction.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to challenge and influence at all levels.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring compliance and quality standards.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and diligent approach to risk management.

Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Qualifications & Certifications

NEBOSH Diploma (advantageous)

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

First Aid Certification

CMIOSH Membership (advantageous)

CSCS Card

PASMA Certification
