- Represent the client as the responsible on-site point of contact.
- Oversee the preparation and setup of the construction site in line with project-specific requirements.
- Assemble a capable construction team with clearly defined responsibilities and reporting structures.
- Implement effective systems for Health & Safety (HSE), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and documentation.
- Manage materials and ensure proper reporting procedures are in place.
- Provide precise and timely progress reports to project management and steering committees.
- Make key decisions to ensure timely progress of construction activities.
- Monitor the construction schedule continuously, with a focus on the critical path.
- Take overall responsibility for site execution and coordination of all relevant interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations on site.
- Collaborate closely with scheduling, quality assurance, the HSE team, and specialist construction managers.
- Review and adjust the project schedule daily in line with current site conditions.
- Identify and implement optimisation measures as construction progresses.
- Coordinate activities with subcontractors, especially with regard to interface management.
- Lead the entire site team, organise meetings, assign tasks, support discipline leads, and incorporate
- daily feedback into ongoing planning.
- Take responsibility for the construction calendar and its adherence.
- Work in close cooperation with the Subcontract Manager and Claims Manager to safeguard the clientβs contractual position.
- Promptly notify the client of any defects or incomplete works in order to preserve warranty claims against suppliers.
- Maintain consistent order and cleanliness across the entire construction site.
- Report the timely completion of all installation works to the client.
- Carry out and properly document final installation inspections.
- Degree in a relevant technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Construction Technology.
- Minimum of five years' professional experience in a comparable role, ideally in chemical plant construction.
- Proven track record in managing industrial construction projects with a volume of over five million euros.
- Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and high-level management competence.
- Solid commercial acumen and strong organisational capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable legal regulations, especially in occupational health and safety.
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) is essential, alongside very good command of either German or English.
