Our client, a leading Tier One MEP contractor known for delivering large-scale, complex projects, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the electrical delivery on a major infrastructure project in Somerset.
The Role
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will take ownership of the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical systems from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. This role requires technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while ensuring safety, quality, and programme targets are met.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of electrical works on-site, including LV/HV distribution, containment, lighting, fire alarms, BMS, and small power
*
Manage design coordination, procurement, subcontractor activities, and installation phases
*
Monitor project progress against programme milestones and drive timely delivery
*
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards
*
Collaborate with the Commissioning Manager to deliver a fully tested and operational system
*
Review and manage ITPs, risk assessments, and method statements
*
Support commercial teams with contract management, variations, and cost reporting
*
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and client interface meetings
*
Mentor site supervisors and ensure effective workforce management
What You’ll Bring
*
Proven experience in electrical project management on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
*
Deep technical understanding of building services electrical systems
*
Degree, HNC, or NVQ Level 4 in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
*
SMSTS (5-day) and valid CSCS Manager Card
*
Experience with NEC or similar contract forms
*
Knowledge of commissioning processes and DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) principles
*
Excellent planning, leadership, and communication skills
*
Prior experience in healthcare, data centres, or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable
