Overview

The role of Deepwater Electrician involves maintaining electrical equipment on the platform, such as motor controls, batteries, relays, VFDs, generators, and power transducers. Responsibilities also include performing electrical isolations, calibrating equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance with organizations like the USCG and MMS, contributing to the development of electrical maintenance plans, and strictly adhering to all safety standards. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of electrical equipment on platform including motor controls, batteries, relays, VFDs, generators, power transducers 
  • Electrical isolations 
  • Calibration of equipment 
  • Regulatory compliance (USCG and MMS) 
  • Assisting in the development of Electrical maintenance plans 
  • Strict adherence to all safety standards 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • 4+ years’ electrical maintenance experience in the oil and gas industry 
  • Bucket knowledge: breakers, terminations, and potential transformers
  • Switchgear experience with 120V, 480V and 4160V knowledge
  • Valid TWIC card 
  • Offshore oil and gas production platform experience
