As a Civil Engineer I, in our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to land development projects in the Energy sector, including solar and natural gas. Alongside our experienced engineering team, you will support technical design work, field investigations, and permitting.

What You'll Do:
Assist Project Managers with technical and civil engineering design
Have a strong interest in design using AutoCAD and hydrology and hydraulics software. Perform design in Civil3D and prepare permit and construction drawings, calculations, and reports.
Perform technical engineering work associated with the design and permitting associated with solar and natural gas land development, including pipeline projects.
Conduct site investigations to assess such existing conditions as pavement, driveway sight distance, drainage patterns, and infiltration testing. Use a GPS-enabled data collector.
Analyze data and mapping to support feasibility determinations
Infrastructure types likely to be worked on: natural gas well sites, river water withdrawals, freshwater impoundments, pipelines, utility-scale solar, etc.
Observe construction. Document progress and identify major deviations (or deviations about to occur) between the approved drawings and field decisions.
Assist with the preparation of Contract Documents
Manage submittals and RFIs
Provide technical support to project managers
Perform field sampling, monitoring, and construction oversight
Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil projects
What You Bring?
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college
1-2 years of experience in Civil Engineering
EIT preferred
AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related Autodesk products proficiency; certifications preferred
Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus
Able to travel for field assignments daily
Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines, as needed
Must possess a valid driver's license
Salary Range:
The compensation range starts at $70,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.
