Civil Solutions is seeking a skilled Carpenter with experience in infrastructure-focused construction from the ground down—specializing in concrete formwork, shoring, structural framing, and infrastructure carpentry. This position requires hands-on knowledge of heavy civil and vertical construction carpentry, an understanding of field safety, and the ability to work as part of a high-performance team in diverse environments ranging from remote field locations to urban job sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, formwork plans, and civil/structural details.
  • Build, place, and strip concrete forms for footings, walls, and slabs.
  • Install structural and architectural framing elements using wood, steel, and engineered materials.
  • Set and align horizontal and vertical formwork and shoring using levels, lasers, and plumb bobs.
  • Erect temporary infrastructure such as scaffolding, platforms, ramps, and protection barriers.
  • Place embedded hardware, anchor bolts, rebar support systems, and sleeves per plan.
  • Cut and install finish and rough carpentry components using power and hand tools.
  • Work closely with concrete crews to ensure timing and alignment of formwork removal or reshaping.
  • Perform layout tasks, assist in staking, and ensure tight tolerances for forming and framing.
  • Safely operate jobsite tools, equipment, and materials handling systems.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in clean and operable condition.
  • Assist in mentoring laborers and apprentices to support construction productivity and safety.
  • Comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and project-specific requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of carpentry experience in civil, structural, or heavy infrastructure environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of tools, materials, and safety procedures used in field carpentry.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on uneven terrain, and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, bend, kneel, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites. Experience with concrete form systems (e.g., Symons, Peri, EFCO, wood).
  • Experience with DOT, municipal, or federal infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with layout tools (e.g., laser levels, total station, transits).
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.
