Job Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman with hands-on experience in AutoCAD and Revit (MEP). The ideal candidate should be familiar with electrical design standards, equipment clearance requirements, and drafting practices in industrial, infrastructure, or substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Revit (3D):
Should be able to develop accurate and standards-compliant 2D and 3D electrical drawings. A strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in Revit MEP and custom family creation, ensuring model components reflect actual manufacturer specs and functional design requirements.
  2. Preparation of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs):
Must be capable of drafting clear and well-structured SLDs based on project scope and load flow requirements.
  3. Preparation of Electrical Equipment Layouts:
Should have experience in preparing layouts that consider equipment spacing, access, bus duct arrangement, maintenance zones, safety clearances, and compliance with standard electrical room layout norms.
  4. Preparation of Electrical Cable Routing Drawings:
Responsible for drafting cable trays, trenches, and conduit routes while ensuring minimum bending radius, separation between power and control cables, and fire safety clearances as per applicable standards.
  5. Preparation of Lighting Layouts:
Should be able to create interior and exterior lighting layouts considering lux level requirements, mounting height, spacing criteria, and lighting control zones as per design standards.
  6. Preparation of Earthing & Lightning Protection Layouts:
Must understand and apply grounding and lightning protection standards (e.g., IS 3043, IEC 62305), and prepare grounding layouts with proper electrode spacing, earth pits, and conductor routing.
  7. Preparation of Switchyard Layouts (11kV, 33kV, 66kV, 132kV):
Should be familiar with substation design principles, equipment positioning, busbar routing, safety clearance requirements, and zone-wise segregation as per CEA guidelines and IS/IEC standards.
  8. Preparation of Foundation Drawings:
Capable of preparing foundation plans for electrical equipment such as transformers, panels, and outdoor structures, ensuring coordination with civil teams and adherence to equipment weight, vibration, and anchoring requirements.
  9. Clash Detection using Navisworks:
Experience in performing interdisciplinary clash checks between electrical, mechanical, and civil models to avoid installation issues. Should be able to interpret clash reports and coordinate with design teams for resolution.
  10. Reading and Understanding Numeration & Architectural  Drawings:
Must be capable of interpreting architectural and structural drawings, identifying reference levels, penetrations, and embedded conduits for effective coordination.
  11. Communication Skills:
Good verbal and written communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams. Should be able to report design changes, raise queries, and document revisions clearly.

Additional Requirement:
The candidate must be well-versed in electrical drafting standards (such as IS, IEC, NEC) and understand the importance of maintaining minimum electrical and safety clearances in equipment layouts, cable routing, and switchyard planning. Attention to detail and design compliance is essential.
