Buyer – Structural Steel
I am looking for an experienced Buyer to join my client, a well-established company in the structural steel industry. This is an office-based role with excellent opportunities for progression in a dynamic and growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Procuring materials, components, and services for structural steel projects
* Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency
* Managing supplier relationships and monitoring performance
* Ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines
* Liaising with project managers, estimators, and production teams to align purchasing with project needs
* Managing stock levels and minimising waste through effective procurement strategies
* Keeping up to date with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and alternative sourcing options
* Ensuring compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and procurement best practices
Requirements:
* Experience as a Buyer in the structural steel or engineering industry
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple procurement tasks
* Commercial awareness and attention to detail in purchasing decisions
* Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management systems
