We are looking for an experienced and motivated Associate Building Surveyor to join a well-established technical due diligence and commercial building surveying team within a large international consultancy. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, professional autonomy, and the chance to work with a wide range of clients on complex and rewarding projects.

This role offers genuine flexibility with only one day per week in the office and the rest from home or on site. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued, and your career development will be encouraged.

The role

You will be working on a broad range of commercial building surveying projects, providing both professional and technical advisory services. The workload is varied and can include technical due diligence, condition surveys, long term asset plans and planned preventative maintenance schedules. Professional work such as dilapidations is also part of the remit.

You will often be part of larger commission teams but will also lead instructions, manage client relationships and oversee financial performance to ensure projects are delivered profitably. There is also the opportunity to mentor and guide junior surveyors, shaping the future of the team.

What you will be doing

  • Managing and delivering commercial building surveying and related consultancy work across a range of property types
  • Undertaking technical due diligence and producing high quality reports and advice
  • Overseeing multiple instructions simultaneously, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Providing clear and commercially focused advice to clients
  • Working closely with project managers and team leaders to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, representing the company with professionalism and confidence
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

What we are looking for

  • MRICS qualified with at least three years post qualification experience
  • Strong track record in commercial building surveying and consultancy work
  • Confident managing your own workload from start to finish
  • Commercially aware and financially astute
  • Able to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in professional services such as dilapidations is desirable

Why join

This is a chance to work for a major international firm with a strong reputation and an inclusive, holistic culture. You will be trusted to manage your own time, given exposure to significant projects, and supported to develop both technically and as a leader. With a salary of £75k–£80k plus excellent benefits, outstanding flexibility, and a people-first approach, this role offers a great balance of challenge, autonomy and support.

If you are a commercially minded Chartered Building Surveyor who enjoys variety, client contact and delivering high quality work, we would like to hear from you.
