Job Purpose
To support the smooth running of the laser cutting department by assisting with materials handling, machine loading/unloading, pallet packing, and maintaining quality and process standards. This role is key to ensuring that production targets are met efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
·Operate a forklift truck to pick and deliver raw materials for laser processing.
·Load raw materials onto laser cutting machines and safely unload finished components.
·Check and confirm part quality and quantities against job specifications.
·Complete basic paperwork, tally sheets and production records accurately.
·Prepare finished goods for dispatch – including packing, wrapping and labelling pallets.
·Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company H&S policies.
·Collaborate with machine operators and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
·Participate in daily start-up and end-of-shift routines.
Person Specification
Essential:
·Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or industrial setting
·Willingness to work a fixed afternoon shift
·Strong attention to detail and basic numeracy skills
·Ability to follow instructions, work independently and as part of a team
·Physically fit – manual handling and standing for extended periods required
Desirable:
·Valid FLT Licence (but training can be provided)
·Experience working in a metalwork, fabrication or laser department
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 13:00pm to 23:30pm
