Electrician Location: Lincoln Salary: Up to £29,000 + 15% weekend shift allowance (rota-based) Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 39 hours per week (including occasional weekends)

Overview We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join the facilities maintenance team at a secure HMP site. This is a permanent, on-site role with a competitive salary and additional weekend allowance. The role involves carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational in a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance
Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components
Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns
Conduct fault-finding and problem-solving across systems
Carry out electrical installations to current wiring regulations
Inspect and test electrical installations (BS7671 standards)
Monitor and order critical electrical spares and stock
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
Support carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives on-site

What You’ll Need Essential:

Recognised technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1–3, NVQ Level 3)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or 17th Edition with willingness to upgrade – support may be provided)
Proven experience in electrical maintenance, testing, and fault-finding
Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations
Ability to work at height and in a secure setting
Comfortable working independently and using initiative
