Hill McGlynn is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded residential developer, currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Dartford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company known for delivering high-quality, traditional build residential developments across the South East.
This is a pivotal role, office-based, reporting directly to the Southern Commercial Director, and offers the chance to take ownership of multiple live sites and support the wider commercial function.
The Role:
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple residential schemes, from pre-construction through to final account. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, within budget, and to the company’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Full commercial management of traditional build housing developments

Preparing budgets, forecasts, and detailed cost plans

Managing procurement and subcontractor packages

Handling valuations, variations, and final accounts

Using COINS software for reporting, procurement, and cost tracking

Providing commercial reports and analysis to the Commercial Director

Supporting and mentoring junior QS staff where required
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the residential development sector

Strong background in traditional build housing projects

Proficient in COINS software – essential for this role

Excellent contract knowledge (JCT or similar) and negotiation skills

Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong leadership, communication, and commercial analysis skills

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field
