Hill McGlynn is delighted to be working in partnership with a reputable residential developer to recruit a skilled Quantity Surveyor for their Southern division, based in Dartford. Specialising in traditional build residential developments, our client is known for delivering high-quality homes across the South East.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS with residential sector experience to join a stable, well-established business in a key commercial role.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Southern Commercial Director, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple live housing developments. The role is office-based, with regular liaison with site teams, subcontractors, and the wider commercial department.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing cost control, budgets, and cash flow across residential developments

Preparing and reviewing subcontractor packages and valuations

Monitoring variations, identifying cost risks, and reporting to senior management

Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks

Using COINS software for cost reporting, procurement, and valuation management

Supporting the Commercial Director with performance analysis and forecasts
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential housing sector

Strong working knowledge of traditional build construction methods

Previous use of COINS software is essential

Excellent numerical and analytical skills

Strong communication and negotiation abilities

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
