A respected, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate or Principal Structural Engineer to join its growing Birmingham office.
This firm is known for delivering innovative, practical structural designs across a wide range of sectors from high-rise developments and healthcare schemes to heritage buildings, residential masterplans, and one-off bespoke projects.

The Role
You’ll lead the delivery of structural design projects across both public and private sectors, overseeing a capable team of engineers and technicians. You'll also have the opportunity to:

Work closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams from concept to completion

Manage design and delivery of projects across sectors including housing, healthcare, commercial, retail, heritage, and education

Oversee work on both new-build and refurbishment projects, including historic and listed buildings

Carry out structural inspections, defect diagnosis, and reporting on existing structures

Mentor junior engineers and support their progression towards chartership

Contribute to business development and client relationships alongside senior leadership

Promote high standards in quality, sustainability, and technical delivery
About You
We’re looking for an experienced structural engineer with:

A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (MEng preferred)

Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE)

Significant experience in building structures across a range of materials and project types

A passion for good design and technical problem-solving

Familiarity with structural inspections and the use of BIM and advanced 3D design tools

Strong understanding of UK design codes, construction methods, and procurement routes

Experience working on heritage or conservation projects (desirable, not essential)

Leadership ability – with experience managing teams, projects, and clients
