Your Role
As a Gensler Design Director, you will create and develop overall design concepts, formulate design presentation strategies, and provide creative and process leadership to multiple design teams through all phases of projects and a variety of project types – Commercial Office Buildings and Towers, Mixed Use, Hospitality, Gaming, Resorts and Entertainment.You have a portfolio of innovative large-scale design projects with an emphasis on built work. Use your unique design perspective to bring new approaches to design process and strategy, develop next-generation talent, and help our clients redesign what’s possible.
What You Will Do
- Lead the creative efforts on client architecture projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies
- Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants, representing Gensler at meetings and presentations
- Mentor and develop Gensler designers; provide creative direction to design teams
- Collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture
- 10+ years of professional experience
- LEED accreditation, preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
- Proficient in Revit and other computer design programs (AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
- Experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies with an understanding of trends in large, shell / core architectural design
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Outstanding graphic presentation skills
- Strong leadership, management and mentoring skills.A desire to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership.
- Proven track record of success in maintaining and growing client relationships
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents
- Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex design concepts to clients
- International design experience a plusA sense of business acumen to advise and guide clients as required
- Proficiency in 2D/3D software, including AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Studio MAX, Sketch up, PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the total project process including fee and team management, schedules and budgets.
