Job Summary:
Our Austin, Dallas or New Orleans office is seeking a Structural Engineer-In-Training for full-time employment. Applicants should have at least 2 years of industry experience, be purpose-driven and indicate a strong interest in developing technical, production and managerial skills.
In this role, you will:
Project
• Execute the structural engineering tasks assigned or as otherwise directed by
senior engineering staff
• Assist in development of structural drawings, Revit models and reports
• Assist project team in applying building code provisions and interpreting
material design standards
• Maintain awareness of the production schedule for responsible task(s)
• Review completed tasks at key intervals for accuracy and completeness
• Perform administration tasks during the construction of a project as assigned
by senior engineering staff including submittal review and responses to field questions
• Assist in communicating with other disciplines and project team members to
ensure overall project coordination
• Participate in team and company-wide meetings to discuss project issues,
coordination with other disciplines and technical issues

• Becomes skilled in fostering and maintaining a collaborative professional

Financial
• Develops familiarity with project budgets and fees
• Develops understanding of the financial implications of overhead and
chargeable time
Revenue or Opportunity Generation
• Fosters awareness of the importance of growing and maintaining client
relationships and the basic concept of business development
Required Experience:
• Accredited BS or MS degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering
• On the path to professional engineering licensure; EIT certification required
• 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Ability to learn structural analytical software
• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
• Ability to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutions
• Ability to work in team environment
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Revit preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred
Location: Austin or Dallas, TX or New Orleans, LA - Hybrid
Travel to out-of-town projects or meetings may be required.
