WSP is currently seeking the next Senior Landscape Architect to join our BC design team to support our expanding Landscape Architectural & Urban Design practice. Based in Vancouver, our ideal candidate is a creative, collaborative designer with a passion for the profession and demonstrated experience taking projects from concept to completion. As a member of our Landscape Architecture & Urban Design Team, this individual will contribute to current projects in a leadership role and help win new ones by being involved in all aspects of proposal development and project delivery.

You will be contributing to a wide range of projects, from small to large scales and will be involved from concept through contract administration. Our areas of focus include urban revitalization, master planning, urban and regional parks, public spaces and plazas, complete streets, multi-use trails, transit facilities, infrastructure, commercial, institutional, land development and ecologically based landscapes. What you can expect to do here:
- Possess a natural design intuition and have a portfolio of projects to demonstrate this
- Show initiative and contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team including mentorship of early career professionals

- Demonstrate excellent communications skills including the ability to quickly develop and articulate different design ideas and project concepts
- Be comfortable speaking with members of the public, clients, and colleagues across disciplines, and do so with professionalism at all times
- Be willing to perform field work and observe projects during construction
- To meet with current and potential clients and develop business leads within Vancouver and other municipalities throughout the Lower Mainland
- Participate and contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning opportunities.
- Be familiar with all aspects of design development and construction documentation including site design, planting design, site grading, detailing, and contract administration, with the ability to lead others through projects from start to finish
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Be a Full Member in Good Standing with the BCSLA (or equivalent, with seal)
- Have 15+ years of professional experience working in Landscape Architecture
- Possess strong technical skills including proficiency in core design and administrative software (CAD, Adobe, Office, etc).
- Demonstrate commitment to community and continual learning
- Have experience in preparing and leading others in the preparation of proposals
- Have experience in Project Management and demonstrated financial acumen
They may also possess:
- ISA Certification
- Proficiency in AutoCad, Civil3D, SketchUp, Lumion, Revit, Rhino GIS
- A valid driver’s license
- Additional credentials in Accessible Design, Environmental Stewardship or other directly related to the practice of Landscape Architecture in Canada.
- Fluency in a second language (French desirable)

Compensation
Salary range (in British Columbia): $96,200 - $132,200
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
