Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Engineer to oversee a major construction project on Paros. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing on-site operations, coordinating teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications, maintaining quality and safety standards, and overseeing schedules and budgets. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise and proven experience in large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to approved construction plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate construction teams, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion.
  • Resource & Material Management: Identify and manage raw materials, manpower, and equipment needs; ensure materials meet specifications; oversee allocation to avoid delays.
  • Daily Site Management: Supervise and manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring subcontractors follow blueprints and schedules.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and legal requirements, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and audits to confirm compliance with design and quality requirements; address deficiencies promptly.
  • Progress & Reporting: Track milestones, monitor timelines, and prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Problem Resolution: Develop technical solutions for construction challenges to prevent or resolve delays.
  • Budget Oversight: Monitor site expenses, manage resources effectively, and support budget adherence to avoid cost overruns.
  • Documentation & Approvals: Maintain accurate records of construction activities, changes, and approvals; file documents with local jurisdiction when required.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment and address issues proactively.


Requirements

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of construction site experience, with at least 2 years on natural gas pipeline/network/connection projects OR proven experience in large-scale architectural/high-end construction developments.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, industry standards, and project management practices.

Solid understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and team management skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Familiarity with project management and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, BIM software).

Languages: Fluency in Greek (required); proficiency in English (required).

Eligibility to work in Greece and willingness to be based full-time on Paros.
