Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Mayo 

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Quantity Surveyor with at least 2 years of experience in the construction or building services sector. The ideal candidate will assist in managing all costs relating to mechanical building services projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documents for mechanical services.

Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist in procurement activities.

Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, variations, and compliance with contract terms.

Support the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.

Measure and value work completed on-site and prepare payment applications.

Assist in the management of project budgets and cost control measures.

Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Maintain records of project correspondence and documentation for audit and cost tracking.

Identify and assess variations and change orders.

Support in resolving commercial and contractual issues.

Requirements:

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with exposure to mechanical packages (HVAC, plumbing, pipework, etc.).

Familiarity with standard forms of contract.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Good working knowledge of construction methods and mechanical services.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with quantity surveying software.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
