We are seeking a commercially strong Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a permanent basis to lead the commercial management of internal packages on a major EV battery manufacturing plant project in Somerset.

This is a high-profile, technically challenging project where you'll play a key role in overseeing packages such as mechanical and electrical installations, architectural finishes, and general internal fit-out works.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Take full commercial responsibility for internal subcontractor packages

• Manage procurement, tendering, cost control, and payment applications

• Oversee change management, variations, and commercial reporting (CVRs, forecasts, etc.)

• Liaise with the main contractor’s commercial team to protect commercial interests

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations (NEC/JCT forms)

• Lead, mentor, and support junior commercial staff within the team

• Report directly to the Commercial Director with regular updates

✅ Ideal Candidate:

• Strong experience as a Managing or Senior QS working for a subcontractor

• Proven track record managing internal packages on large-scale construction or industrial projects

• Solid understanding of NEC or JCT contracts

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management

• Excellent negotiation, forecasting, and reporting skills
