Managing Quantity Surveyor

Location: North West London - Hybrid 

Salary: £60,000 - £69,000 + Car or Car Allowance 

 

Role Overview:

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in overseeing the commercial and financial aspects of the project. You will ensure accurate forecasting, effective cost management, and compliance with NEC contract requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reporting.
  • Provide accurate project cost forecasts and final value estimations.
  • Present commercial updates to senior management.
  • Monitor budgets, cash flow, and valuation plans.
  • Ensure effective communication between stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Advise on contract forms and procurement strategies.
  • Manage commercial risks, opportunities, and disallowed costs.
  • Apply dispute resolution strategies, including SCL Protocol knowledge.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor on large infrastructure projects.
  • Contract Knowledge: Strong experience with NEC Contracts.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (BSc/MSc) or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Valid CSCS Card.
  • Preferred: Membership of RICSICES, or CIOB.
  • Eligibility: Must have the right to live and work permanently in the UK.

 

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports To: Senior Management / Commercial Director.
  • Team Structure: Work collaboratively within the commercial team.
  • Direct Reports: Lead and mentor junior surveyors.
