Lighting Designer
Our client is an international lighting consultancy employing over 50 people, with studios across the globe.
We are hiring an Intermediate Lighting Designer (3-5+ years lighting design experience with a manufacturer or design consultancy) to join the London team.
The projects you will work on are wide-ranging, including hotels & hospitality, retail, museums and luxury offices. The luminaires are very much designer and architecturally manufactured, so this will suit someone with experience working with similar lighting products.
You will assist the team in creating 2D layouts/3D renders, designs, schematics, calculations and presentations within project timelines.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience working in a professional
lighting design studio or similar consultancy environment
- Relevant degree (Lighting Design, Architecture,
or related discipline)
- Strong ability in 3D design and modelling
software
- Experience in lighting calculation and
simulation tools such as Dialux Evo, with the ability to integrate models into
wider project workflows
- Confident with graphic design and visualisation
tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Comfortable using digital sketching tools (e.g.,
Wacom tablets, Sketchbook, Adobe Fresco) to communicate design ideas
- Competent in reading and understanding
architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimal guidance
- Good working knowledge of construction stages, project coordination, and industry standards/codes relevant to lighting design
