WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Civil Roadway Engineer for our Columbus, OH office. Other office locations to be considered are Cincinnati and Cleveland. Your Impact
- Perform complex design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of transportation, site development, and stormwater improvement projects in MicroStation OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Lead and coordinate design teams.
- Lead preparation of final design plans, cost estimates and special provisions.
- Develop memorandums and other written technical documents.
- Manage design tasks and identify changes and risks.
- Determine client requirements and contribute to the development of scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide guidance and mentor junior staff.
- Utilize relationships with clients to achieve WSP's business development goals.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- P.E. registration in Ohio or ability to obtain in 6 months
- 7+ years’ experience in transportation/civil engineering
- Good technical writing, analytical and communication skills
- Experience leading design tasks and managing junior design staff
- Proficiency in Microstation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to implement WSP's Quality Control Procedures
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience having led and mentored a team
- Experience in OpenRoads and Civil 3D
- Leadership experience working with ODOT and other local agencies
- Business development experience
- Active member of local professional organizations
