Job Title: Journeyman Plumber

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyman Plumber to join our team. As a Journeyman Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will work with blueprints, local plumbing codes, and other regulations to ensure that plumbing systems are installed and repaired correctly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water, sewage, and gas systems.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan plumbing layouts and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

  • Install pipes, fixtures, and appliances such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, and boilers.

  • Troubleshoot plumbing systems to identify issues such as leaks, clogs, or malfunctioning equipment.

  • Inspect plumbing systems and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal functioning.

  • Work with a variety of materials, including copper, PVC, steel, and cast-iron pipes.

  • Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure proper pressure, drainage, and ventilation.

  • Follow all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Communicate with clients to assess plumbing needs and explain the scope of work.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

  • Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

  • Provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior plumbers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program.

  • License/Certification: Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent certification as required by state or local regulations.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a journeyman licensed plumber.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and standards.

    • Proficient in installing, maintaining, and repairing various plumbing systems.

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong communication and customer service skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy lifting and strenuous tasks.

    • Familiarity with plumbing tools and equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

  • May require working in confined spaces or on elevated surfaces.

  • Some on-call work may be necessary for emergency plumbing repairs.

  • Must adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience and skill level.
