General Maintenance - Carpenter

The successful candidate must have experience and skills related to general carpentry.

 

Required:  High School Diploma or Equivalent; Valid Acts 34, 114, 151, and 168 clearances; Valid Driver's License

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform general carpentry related work and repairs on buildings and ground structures such as walls, ceilings, doors, masonry, windows, flooring, roofing, etc.
  • Installs and repairs door hardware and works on lock cores
  • Perform ground work including mowing grass and plowing snow, when needed
  • Stud out and install drywall to construct new walls, install doors and suspended ceilings
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and individuals in the school environment as well as the general public
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

ADA Specifications:

Must be able to reach above and below the waist, walk, and use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects.  Requires use of both hands for repetitive motion.  Able to bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb, and crawl.  Lifts/carries supplies weighing 50 pounds or more.  Ability to work in an external environment subject to temperatures below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees.  Able to stand or walk 80 percent (80%) of the workday.  Ability to work alone and with little direct supervision.

 

Terms of Employment

Full time; 12-month position 

Hours: 6am-2:30pm
