General Labourer

The General Labourer position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support the Lean, 5S and Continuous Improvement programs. This position may be assigned to a particular production area and accountable for cleaning work areas and equipment and perform other tasks as needed.

Performance Expectations

· Maintenance of the 5S Program through painting lines within the plant as needed.  

· Assist with janitorial duties when janitors are absent from work.

· Perform maintenance tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or designate.

· Small fabrication tasks, assist with general building maintenance.

· Ability to solve issues as they arise, and work with team to solve day to day issues

Credentials

· High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

· Able to use and safely operate a variety hand and power tools.

Desired Characteristics

· Able to communicate with co-workers to exchange information about tasks and to coordinate work.

· Ability to work mainly independently and in team to carry out tasks which require cooperation, such as lifting heavy objects.

· Learn continuously on the job through workplace training.
