HOURS OF WORK: 8 Hour Daily/247 Calendar Days Yearly
STATUS: Classified – Non-Exempt, Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing plumbing services identifying repair and replacement needs.
This position is expected to install, repair, and upgrade plumbing systems.
This position is part of the maintenance team and reports to the lead plumber.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes blueprints, drawings, and schematics of plumbing systems.
Coordinates with assigned lead/supervisor and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
Documenting activities and conveying information thorough written reports.
Estimates equipment and/or materials needed to complete work projects.
Fabricates equipment parts meeting specialty needs and replacing unavailable parts.
Informs the team regarding procedures, status of work orders, and provides necessary information for making decisions complying with standards and regulations.
Installs a variety of equipment, fixtures, and valves in a safe and workable environment.
Maintains equipment, facilities, tools, and vehicle ensuring safe operating condition.
Maintains inventory and ensures availability of items required to complete installations/repairs.
Monitors equipment, facilities, and tools condition and recommends maintenance and repairs.
Participates in meetings, trainings, seminars, and workshops for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
Remodels workspaces ensuring efficient and safe utilization of space.
Removes snow ensuring parking lots and sidewalks are safe for people and vehicles.
Repairs a variety of fixtures and furniture ensuring a safe working condition.
Responds to afterhours and emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concern.
Requests and transports equipment, supplies, and tools for job sites.
Must work graduation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent combined with on-the-job/technical training required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
High degree of motivation, responsibility, and confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability in compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment
Highly collaborative team player.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.).
Firm adherence to safety practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the performance of heavy work which may include exerting up to 100 pounds of force, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The position involves all environmental working conditions which include but not limited to extreme cold/heat, close quarters, hazards, loud noises, and vibration. The position also requires frequent balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, talking, and walking. The position also requires occasional fingering and repetitive motion.
