Project Overview
3D Personnel is working closely with our client which is working on a flagship UK infrastructure programme with a value in excess of £200 million, involving the construction of a new electrical substation. The project scope includes heavy civil engineering works, extensive earthworks, controlled demolition, reinforced concrete frames, and piling operations.
The contractor is a principal delivery partner on behalf of a national utility provider and is seeking to bolster its site-based commercial team for the next phase of development.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all site-based quantity surveying activities, working closely with project and commercial teams

Administer and manage contracts under NEC forms, ensuring timely processing of early warnings, compensation events, and instructions

Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts, valuations, and subcontractor accounts

Evaluate and manage risk and variations in accordance with contract terms

Support procurement processes, subcontractor management, and interim payments

Provide mentoring and guidance to a junior QS onsite, contributing to their professional development

Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and ensure records align with reporting requirements

Attend regular site progress meetings and contribute to commercial strategy
Skills & Qualifications

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (postgraduate qualification advantageous but not essential)

Proven track record on civils-heavy projects, ideally infrastructure or energy-related schemes

Demonstrable experience in NEC3/NEC4 contracts (certification preferred)

Comfortable working in a site-focused role (minimum 3 days per week onsite)

Capable of supporting and mentoring junior team members

Strong commercial acumen, communication skills, and attention to detail

Proficiency in contract administration and industry-standard reporting tools
