Vertical Recruitment is working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a respected, independent Construction Consultancy, widely recognised for delivering expert Cost Management and Project Controls services across major UK infrastructure programmes.
This role will see the successful candidate embedded within a newly awarded AMP8 framework with Welsh Water (Dŵr Cymru), supporting the Better Rivers Programme across North Wales. This is a high-profile, long-term commission involving the upgrade and modernisation of water and wastewater infrastructure throughout the region.
The Role:
As part of the consultancy’s Infrastructure Division, you’ll support the post-contract commercial management and cost reporting for a portfolio of water sector projects. The position involves working closely with client teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure delivery under the NEC3/4 suite of contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full post-contract Quantity Surveying services across multiple water infrastructure schemes
- Support the management of interim valuations, compensation events, and final accounts
- Administer contracts in compliance with NEC3/NEC4 ECC Options A, C, or E
- Assist with cost forecasting, risk assessment, and cash flow analysis
- Maintain accurate commercial reporting to support project delivery
- Collaborate with project and client teams to ensure best-value outcomes
- Contribute to a positive and solutions-focused working environment
Requirements:
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the infrastructure sector (ideally water/wastewater or utilities)
- Working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 ECC contracts (Options A, C, or E)
- Contract administration and post-contract commercial management skills
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects or frameworks
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Willingness to travel to North Wales (up to 3 days per week) as required
Desirable:
- Previous experience on water industry frameworks such as AMP6/7/8
- Familiarity with contract management tools (e.g., CEMAR)
- Working towards or holding NEC accreditation
- Based in or able to travel regularly to North Wales and surrounding regions
