Based in Melbourne, my client is a practice known for delivering thoughtful and contextually responsive designs. With over two decades of experience and a growing portfolio of work, my client is in an exciting phase of strategic growth. To help drive this momentum, we are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic Senior Associate with strong Business Development interests to join this tight-knit team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the practice alongside the Director. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your commercial acumen, passion for architecture and love for building relationships all into this exciting role.
Your new role
As a Business Development Associate, you’ll be instrumental in expanding Select Architects’ reach and impact. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will take ownership of key business development initiatives and work closely with the marketing and design teams to bring in new opportunities and deepen existing client relationships.
Your core responsibilities will include:
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities (sector of your choice)
• Building and maintaining strong client and partner relationships through meetings, presentations, and events
• Supporting the preparation of proposals, EOIs, and tenders, ensuring submissions align with our brand and strategic goals
• Conducting market research and competitor analysis to inform growth strategies
This is a highly collaborative role with plenty of autonomy and visibility. It offers the unique opportunity to work across the entire business, influencing growth strategies and engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for someone who is confident, curious, and passionate about building relationships and driving business outcomes. If you are someone who's reached your potential at your current firm and is ready to pivot into a role with more growth, visibility, and impact - this is THE opportunity for you. You'll bring:
• 8+ years experience in the Architecture industry, passionate about working in a business development/client liaison role — ideally within architecture, construction, property, or professional services
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong networking abilities and a genuine interest in people
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM tools
• A creative, solutions-oriented approach and a collaborative mindset
• Knowledge of the architecture and design industry is highly regarded, but not essential
