Atheray Stone are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to work on a Highways upgrade scheme based in the South West.
This is working with an established main contractor who operate across the UK in a variety of disciplines, mainly Highways & Rail.
The project is currently in the design phase, and is due for completion in late 2027. The business have a strong presence within the South West Region and have a strong order book for future work.
Candidate Profile:

Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management

Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or current Managing Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in highways.

Strong NEC3 / NEC 4 experience

Able to travel to Bristol and on occasion surrounding areas 3 times per week

Full UK Driving Licence is essential for the position

Professional membership (RICS/CICES) desirable
Responsibilities:

Deliver circa £20m Project through Design, to Site and Handover

Full commercial responsibility for running of the project

Management of a team of Quantity Surveyors & Commercial Admins, Reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager for the Region

Able to deal with client from a commercial standpoint, defending the contractors interests

Monthly reporting of project performance both internally and to client

Bring leadership, commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering value.

Operate within a non-hierarchical environment where you can influence decisions and mentor others.
